Ok, get ready! I’m about to share something that will blow your mind. It’s crazy I know, and it may be difficult to comprehend but we are all big boys and girls. Sometimes we need to hear the truth straight up. Are you ready? Here goes………LIFE IS HARD!!!!

Well, while this is probably not mind blowing, it is definitely the truth. We all have our own issues, stresses, and concerns that sometimes can take such a toll on our physical, mental, and emotional well being. It can be challenging to have to face our families, friends, and quite honestly the world when dealing with even just the everyday concerns. Some days, it would be easy to be negative and cynical because we may be angry, hurt, or worried. But, in reality, that changes NOTHING! In fact, it only inflates stress and worry. So, I’m all about “fixing it”, that’s my personality. Yes, I’m a fixer (not always a good quality by the way). Well, if you can’t be a part of the solution, don’t waste time complaining or fretting about it. THAT, my friends, is a big waste of time and energy.

Now, I’m not saying I never do. No, I’m human and I’d be lying if I said otherwise. What I AM saying is that sometimes, we need to be positive on purpose. We often invest a great deal of time only seeing obstacles, but we all face them. So what next? Being negative  is UNPRODUCTIVE!! If we examine and recognize the positive in our own lives and purposely put out positive energy, that positive energy will find its way back into our own lives.

Take for example social media often being used with wrong intention or “purpose”. There are pity seekers, drama instigators, and constant victims. Nothing wrong with venting by any means, but if we are going to share (very important by the way, because we connect when we recognize how other people experience similar situations), why not also share how we manage or solve these issues in turn demonstrating a positive outlook. As mom always says, “If you have nothing nice to say….”, we know the rest. Another great way to be positive on purpose is to start by waking up each morning and deciding to be and spread positivity. So, how do we do that? How do we wake up with a smile when we are unemployed, bills are due, children and family have us worried or upset, or when life altering situations have found their way into our lives?

Frankly, it centers around finding the positive on purpose, so that it becomes embedded into who we are. Maybe we have been conditioned to believe that “purpose” is something bigger than what it really is. Some days being positive on purpose might mean just sharing a smile with someone even when we don’t really feel like it. Often times, that smile can change someone’s day. When we have made someone else’s day then the smile suddenly becomes more natural to us and ricochets. It’s in the attitude we carry. Our purpose has to be clear from the first step we take each morning. We have to have intention in what we say and do and become positive on purpose so that it becomes a lifestyle. Ultimately, not only are we being purposely positive but we are creating a purposeful life.  Despite any turmoil going on in my own life, I try to be positive, so I love reading like minded positive posts and blogs to keep me uplifted. I “purposely” seek only positive influence. Life will always be hard, how we approach it and how we decide to live it makes all the difference. I CHOOSE to live a life that is purposely positive!

As the school year starts to  come to a close and I have not yet found gainful employment in the teaching field, I am left asking myself if that’s really a bad thing. I have begun to realize that perhaps a change in careers is in order, or at least a change in the journey of my current one. However, I am left facing another decision as to whether or not my fitness studio dream is realistic. Because this business is relatively new, for now, one is codependent on the other.  When I opened the studio over a year ago, I gave myself a deadline and said BY 1 year if I am not seeing strides or growth that I wouldn’t stress and I would just say BYE, no regrets. This mind contract has caused me a significant amount of stress as of late. I put a great deal of pressure on myself to believe that closing equals failure. When you BUY into a dream and are trying to remain positive, you aren’t supposed to give up, right? That’s how I see it anyway. I want so much to continue the pursuit of my passion but not at the risk of causing undue stress and the BLUES. That’s when the passion becomes muddled and is no longer “FUN”! Up to now, I have been able to earn an income that sustains the business and actually enjoying the variety in my daily activities allowing me to still teach, life coach, learn new careers and still be a fitness Instructor. But doing many different things has also pulled me in many different directions. Taxing to say the least and I haven’t even thrown my personal life into that mix yet!

So what is the answer to this conundrum. Not really sure there is a definitive answer. I do know that in life, people never stop growing. It is not uncommon to re-invent ourselves in order to find happiness and purpose where we are at. It is a human adaptation, one that we use not only in our pursuit of happiness but also for survival. The real question then is not what will I do, but what won’t I do? For now, I will continue to work hard and allow my passion and dreams to lead me on this journey and accept where it takes me, even if it is only temporary. No more deadlines because the “BY” is not in my control. Whatever I have to say “BYE” to, I will know that I gave it my all so that no tears will be shed. Finally, there is only one way to live and that is to “BUY” into your life completely. Owning our gifts, talents, our mistakes, failures, and our imperfections is part of living out our dreams. So, BY BYE BUY BLUES, only positivity and happiness will be allowed on this part of my journey. How about you and yours?
